This Makes My Day!

This whole blog award thing is something I knew nothing about when I started this blog. In fact, I didn't know much about blogging at all. I had no idea there was this whole connected network of amazing writers, moms and students who are all supporting each other and making friends.

Now that I've found this little underground I don't plan to leave- even if I take accidental extended vacations now and again. It's fantastic to be recognized, and to realize that people actually read the crap I write!

I have been awarded the Stylish Blogger Award by Nicki from Diaries of a Neurotic Nontrad…! Nicki! OMG! Thank you so much! Someday I hope to stalk meet you for real.

AND

The Versatile Blogger Award by Tiffany at My Lemonade dreams! I just met Tiffany though the Etsy noobs group.

Of course there are rules. Luckily for me, the rules are the same for both honors. And since I’m doing well if I find time to blog at all-I’m combining the two. Look at me multi-tasking!

1) I work in IT. I work with mostly guys. Every once in a while I come across a tech support moron who thinks I don’t know anything because I’m a girl. I enjoy telling them where to stick it.

2) I am a Weight Watcher. Have been off and on for a couple of years. Please feel free to leave motivating comments, pray for me to be skinny, attempt to send me skinny brainwaves, think of me as skinny, or pay for surgery- nothing else has worked so maybe one of these will.

3) I just came off the biggest Mom Strike of my life. Remind me to blog about the laundry mat.

4) I torture myself daily with guilt. Thoughts like, "I am a shitty mother, friend, blogger, gardener, rat keeper, crafter" run through my head constantly. ((Nik, I totally stole this and made it my own. It’s true. It’s Mom Syndrome))

5) I love board games. L.O.V.E board games. Love them. A lot. I’m OCD about my board games. If you lose a piece or spill a drink on one-you will never play with me again. Ever. I’m not kidding.

6) I over use exclamation marks. What!? You hadn’t noticed?! Oh, and the word And. And So. I use so and and a lot.

7) I forget things. All the time. I forget what day it is. Forget upcoming birthdays. Forget I need to blog. Forget I had a project deadline. Forget dinner is on the stove. Forget to call friends. Forget to buy milk. It’s terrible. My poor children have had to adapt to this.

8) I think the idea that someone can sum up their life in 7 bullets is bullshit so I added an 8th but will stop here! ((Nicki added this, but I’m keepin’ it. I totally agree! I am so much more than 7 bullet points! Cause I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and DOGGONEIT people like me! ))

Are you shitting me? 15? If Nicki can add an 8th bullet point then I can take one away. I’m not really taking it away. I’m reducing it. It’s the Weight Watchers version. I’m gonna link you guys to my favorite 8 so that everything matches up. And cause I follow a ton of blogs, but most of them are tutorials, reviews and giveaways. These are the guys I love to actually READ! And that I haven't passed an award to in the past. Cept for Christie-she gets all the awards. You are all receiving both awards from little old me!
